Hi, my name is Paul Cassidy, I grew up on a small farm on the outskirts of Rochester Minnesota. All though my profession took me to many other states, I returned to Minnesota and live on a section of the family farm. I own a small excavating company to pay the bills but my passion lives in my metal sculpture. Artistic all my life the metal sculpture was brought to the fore front by my son Tony who wanted to learn how to weld. (not sure if he knew what he had taken on). This inspired our idea for the project, the dragon gate. In the website you can see the progress on the piece and also a video of how it works.
I only use what some people refer to as scrap as my medium for my art, which is old equipment or any metal for that matter. My work is referred to as interactive steel sculpture by my son. The fish sculpture along with a few other pieces I have entered in art Prize which is held in Grand Rapids Michigan. There is a great video on the site done by Tony of our journey to Grand Rapids with the fish which we named Scappie Dick. All of the pieces that you see on my site are for sale and I also do commission work if you would like to see your own idea come to life.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and contact me anytime.
